Cyberwatching.eu is the European observatory for research and innovation in the field of cybersecurity and privacy, a project funded under the European Commission’s H2020 programme that has contributed to making the Digital Single Market a more secure place by promoting the adoption and understanding of cutting-edge cybersecurity and privacy services emerging from Research and Innovation initiatives across Europe.

The project has been developed over four years and among all the actions carried out during its course, the creation of four cybersecurity tools made available to SMEs for free can be highlighted:

  1. Cyber Risk Temperature Tool Designed primarily for SMEs, but any organization can take advantage of its content and recommendations. It consists of a set of questions related to your IT infrastructure, your current situation in terms of IT services and procedures, to identify possible critical situations, generating a report of recommendations.
  2. GDPR Temperature Tool: Designed to give a reference described as “temperature” that measures the company’s exposure to the risk of sanctions due to GDPR violations. It provides a set of recommendations containing some practical suggestions that companies and organizations should follow to improve their compliance posture.
  3. Information Notice Tool: The tool is made up of a set of questions related to data processing by any type of company and provides useful recommendations on how to behave in the face of the GDPR, its rules and application, thanks to a handy checklist of the components required in an Information Notice under the GDPR.
  4. Cybersecurity Label, a tool that allows a self-assessment of the cybersecurity status of a company based on the review of 8 different areas. As a result of the analysis, the company obtains a detailed report that allows knowing which aspects are adequate and which aspects need improvement, a report that will serve as the basis for improving its processes in the hands of an external consultant, and to be able to aspire to a cybersecurity certification.
